Get to know the artists from the upcoming [UNBOUND] art show!
Needless to say, Paris-born, Toronto-based Jimmy Chiale does not need an introduction. But just in case you haven’t been to any of his events at his very own gallery or stumbled upon one of his many murals across the city, take a chance to familiarize (or re-familiarize) yourself with the emotional abstract whirlwind that makes up Jimmy’s unique and widely recognizable works.
What type of work do you create as an artist?
I paint colorful abstract painting using acrylic and inks. I love destroying forms and assembling them together using vibrant colors surrounded by bold black lines.
What was the main thing that you had to go through to get you to where you are at now as an artist?
The main thing I had to go through to get to where I am now as an artist is the streets.
What is the main thing that you try to achieve with your work?
The main thing I try to achieve with my work is being free and innovative all while having fun. Creating things, shape and color combinations that I have never seen. And the goal is to amaze people with their own imagination.
What does being ‘unbound as an artist’ mean to you?
It means being free to me to live my life as an artist the way that I want.
Where can we find your work online, and where can we see your work displayed next?
You can find my work many places online including my website, and even at many restaurants, bars and clothing shops downtown Toronto, as well as at my gallery located at 404 Queen street East (416Gallery). You can contact me at email@example.com.
