For those of you who don’t know, StART is a Toronto program that is looking to develop, support and promote street art in the city. StART believes that street art plays an indispensable role in adding beauty and character to the neighbourhoods of Toronto.
Which is great and all, but not many places will let you go wild on their walls.
Which is why they’ve started their Outside the Box program.
Outside the Box gives local street artists a chance to show their work in high traffic areas and pays 500$ per completed piece.
The canvas? Light boxes.
The traffic signal boxes seen on street corners – usually covered in tags – are being turned into works of art.
Anyone can apply to paint a light box, all you have to do is reside in Toronto and submit a design proposal using their template.
This year there are 64 spots up for grabs. Do you have what it takes?
Deadline for submissions is 5pm on May 8th
